Tip Tuesdays: Before you begin your evaluation, review or develop your theory of change

Before you start your program evaluation, it’s important to have a clear description of your program, including a model that links activities to intended outcomes. A Theory of Change documents your theory of how what you do will lead a specific outcome. It can be on its own a very important tool, as it help you think through your assumptions, and mechanisms for how you think change will happen. It also lays a great foundation for your evaluation.
