Theme Thursday: Social Return on Investment?

I recently learned about this upcoming social return on investment (SROI) training in Toronto from June 13-14 that could be of interest.

SROI is more or less about assigning value to social, environmental, and other benefits to measure impact, i.e. combining the financial and social impact. It seems like an interesting way to get at the intersection of being equity and outcomes-focused. Calculating SROI is a common practice when designing and pricing social impact bonds in the States.

It seems like this movement was started by Social Value UK which has a lot of really interesting resources and tools on measuring impact and social value.

Does anyone currently use this practice in their work? Has anyone attended the training and have any insight to share? I’d love to hear from you!
