This morning I was searching for something, and stumbled upon an article by State University that provides a great summary of a lot of key concepts important to understanding different research methods:
In essence, a lot of program evaluation is doing research. We have questions we want answered about a program and research methods can help us find the answers.
Data collection boils down to 2 types of activities:
* asking individuals or groups questions
* observing behaviour
There are 6 types of research: measurement development, survey methodology, observational methods, experimental methods, quasi-experimental methods, and secondary analysis and meta-analysis
In the coming weeks I’m going to focus on one of these types. If you’re interesting, tune-in every Monday!
If you just can’t wait, check out the full article.
