The AGO is playing host to an exciting international gathering of leading Indigenous artists, curators and scholars September 13-15 in conjunction with Rebecca Belmore’s excellent solo exhibition Rebecca Belmore: Facing the Monumental.

aabaakwaad (it clears after a storm) will feature in depth conversations and keynotes that are focused on shifting the current global interest in Indigenous arts to be one that is Indigenous-led. This is bound to be an incredible learning opportunity and features such arts luminaries as Kent Monkman, Shelley Niro, Rebecca Belmore, Wanda Nanibush, Jesse Wente and many others.

I’m looking forward to attending and sharing more about what I’ve learned here in the Inspired People hub. Perhaps I’ll see you there!
